Spinach and Apple Baby Puree
Sweet apple and baby spinach cooked together and blended into a bright green puree for babies.
Recipe in testing: I'm cooking it in my TM7™ and will update the steps and the photo with my own.

This bright green puree pairs mild, sweet apple with tender baby spinach, so the greens taste gentle and fresh. It is a nice next step once your baby has tried apple and spinach on their own. There is no sugar, salt or honey in it, only apples, spinach and a little water.
The Thermomix® TM7™ chops the apples and cooks them soft, then the spinach goes in for a few minutes, just until it wilts, which keeps the color vivid. A final blend at high speed makes it silky. One batch gives you about fifteen small portions for the freezer.

Ingredients
Instructions
- Place the apples in the mixing bowl and chop 4 sec/speed 4.
- Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl with the spatula, add the water and cook 8 min/100°C (212°F)/speed 1.
- Add the spinach, pressing it down with the spatula, and cook 3 min/100°C (212°F)/speed 1, until wilted.
- With the measuring cup in place, blend 1 min/speed 5-10, increasing speed gradually.
- Scrape down the sides and blend 30 sec/speed 10, until very smooth.
- Let the puree cool until lukewarm, check the temperature on the inside of your wrist and serve a small portion in a bowl.
Tips
- Ask your pediatrician before starting solids, about when to offer leafy greens and about the right texture for your baby's age. Offer apple and spinach on their own first, a few days apart, before you combine them.
- Keep the puree covered in the fridge up to 2 days, or freeze it in an ice cube tray, then move the cubes to a freezer bag and use them within 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
- Spread the puree in a wide container to cool it quickly, so it keeps its bright green color.
- Serve from a small bowl, not from the storage jar, and throw away what your baby does not finish.
