Blueberry Baby Puree
Fresh or frozen blueberries cooked until they burst and blended into a smooth purple puree for babies.
Recipe in testing: I'm cooking it in my TM7™ and will update the steps and the photo with my own.

Blueberries make a deep purple puree with a sweet and slightly tangy flavor. A few minutes of cooking softens the skins so they blend smooth. There is no sugar, salt or honey in this puree, only blueberries and a splash of water. Fresh or frozen berries both work, so you can make it all year.
The Thermomix® TM7™ cooks the berries until they burst, then blends them in the same bowl. For the very first spoonfuls, press the puree through a fine sieve to catch the bits of skin. Blueberry puree is on the thin side, so it is also lovely stirred into thicker purees and baby cereal later on.

Ingredients
Instructions
- Rinse the blueberries and place them in the mixing bowl with the water.
- Cook 6 min/100°C (212°F)/speed 1, or 8 min if the berries are frozen, until they burst and soften.
- With the measuring cup in place, blend 1 min/speed 5-10, increasing speed gradually, until smooth.
- For the smoothest first puree, press it through a fine mesh sieve with the back of a spoon to hold back the bits of skin.
- Let the puree cool until lukewarm, check the temperature on the inside of your wrist and serve a small portion in a bowl.
Tips
- Ask your pediatrician before starting solids and about the right texture for your baby's age. Whole blueberries are a choking hazard for babies and young toddlers, so always serve them pureed or well mashed.
- Once your baby has tried each food on its own, mix blueberry puree with banana puree, pear puree or oatmeal baby cereal for a thicker spoonful.
- Keep the puree covered in the fridge up to 3 days, or freeze it in an ice cube tray, then move the cubes to a freezer bag and use them within 2 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
- Blueberry stains clothes, so use a bib. Serve from a small bowl, not from the storage jar, and throw away what your baby does not finish.
